Installation Guide

Important Safety Information

WARNING: READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION AND USE.

This guide provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and proper installation of your Soft Spa. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury, property damage, or voiding of your warranty.

1. Site Selection and Preparation

1.1 Location Requirements

Structural Considerations

• Weight Capacity: Ensure the installation surface can support the full weight of the spa when filled with water and occupants. A filled spa can weigh between 3,000-6,000 pounds (1,360-2,720 kg).

• Level Surface: The spa must be placed on a structurally sound, perfectly level surface.

• Accessibility: Maintain a minimum clearance of 24 inches (600 mm) around all sides of the spa for maintenance access.

Environmental Factors

• Weather Protection: Avoid installing in areas prone to flooding or excessive water accumulation.

• Sun Exposure: Choose a location with partial shade to minimize vinyl damage from UV exposure.

• Wind Protection: Position the spa in a sheltered area to reduce heat loss and energy consumption.

• Drainage: Ensure proper drainage to prevent water pooling around the motor unit.

Safety Clearances

• Maintain at least 10 feet (3 meters) from overhead power lines.

• Keep at least 5 feet (1.5 meters) from all metal surfaces, electrical appliances, and buildings.

• Verify no sprinklers are near electrical outlets.

2. Foundation Requirements

2.1 Recommended Foundation Options

Concrete Pad

• Minimum thickness: 4 inches (10 cm)

• Must be reinforced with steel mesh

• Properly cured and level within 1/4 inch (6 mm) over the entire surface

Wooden Deck

• Must be engineered to support 146 lbs per square foot (7 kPa)

• Consult a structural engineer or licensed contractor

• Use pressure-treated lumber and proper support beams

Other Acceptable Surfaces

• Patio stones (minimum 2 inches thick, 12 inches square)

• Compacted gravel with landscape fabric

• Concrete pavers on a compacted base

WARNING: DO NOT install directly on grass, bare ground, or uneven surfaces.

3. Electrical Installation

3.1 Power Requirements

Voltage Specifications

• Europe/Asia: 220/240 Volt, 10 Ampere dedicated circuit

• North America: 110/120 Volt, 15 Ampere dedicated circuit

• Frequency: 50/60 Hz compatible

Electrical Components

• GFCI Protection: Must be connected to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter

• Weatherproof Outlet: Use only outdoor-qualified electrical sockets

• No Extension Cords: Never use extension cords (voids warranty)

• Bonding: Connect a minimum #8 AWG (8.4 mm²) solid copper bonding conductor to any metal equipment within 5 feet (1.5 m)

3.2 Installation Requirements

Professional Installation

• All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician

• Must comply with local electrical codes and regulations

• Electrical panel must have a 2-pole, high-sensitivity differential switch

Wiring Specifications

• Use appropriate cable size based on spa power requirements and distance from electrical panel

• Install proper conduit protection for all wiring

• Ensure all connections are properly grounded

WARNING: IMPROPER ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CAN RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE, OR SERIOUS INJURY.
